Each week of the NFL campaign we will sift through the deeper options at each position with an eye on identifying streaming fantasy commodities with valuable matchups to consider.Did you draft Keenan Allen and need replacement options for this week? Or are you a Rob Gronkowski owner scouring the wire until he returns? We have some choice names to consider for those seeking widely available options at each position.QuarterbackJimmy Garoppolo, New England Patriots: Owned in slightly more than 7 percent of ESPN leagues as of this writing, Garoppolo is a nice fantasy fill-in for investors in, well, Tom Brady, for example. His opponent this week, the Miami Dolphins, have pressured opposing signal-callers on just 25.7 percent of dropbacks since the start of last season, the 10th-lowest rate during this stretch. Garoppolo, meanwhile, was pressured on just 16.2 percent of dropbacks in Week 1, the second-lowest rate in the league. If given extended time to dissect an exploitable secondary -- the Dolphins didnt have a cornerback grade in the top 40 at the position in pass coverage this past Sunday -- our projection model has Garoppolo positioned for borderline QB1 production. He makes for one of the stronger streaming signal-callers for Week 2.Ryan Fitzpatrick, New York Jets: Fitzpatrick enjoyed an even lower pressure rate than Garoppolo last week, with the Jets ceding pressure on just 15.8 percent of his dropbacks, the lowest rate in the league for the opening weekend. The Bills, meanwhile, averaged a sack once every 33.9 pass attempts when opposing quarterbacks used a straight dropback last season, per Pro Football Focus, ranking 32nd in league in this pressure metric. A clean pocket is a quarterbacks friend, while the Bills secondary has been hospitable to opposing pass-catchers since the start of last season in surrendering the eighth-most yards per completion (11.3). The Bills have proved particularly porous to opposing backs in the passing phase, ceding the fifth-most yards per attempt to the position, setting Fitzmagic and Matt Forte up for a potentially rewarding night on Thursday.Running backJustin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens: Forsett led the Baltimore backfield in snaps and total yardage in Week 1 while earning the fourth-highest rushing grade among tailbacks on Pro Football Focus. In one meeting with the Browns last season, his opponent this week, Forsett tallied a season-high 170 yards from scrimmage and scored a touchdown in the process. While Terrance West factors heavily into a nearly equal share for touches in the Ravens committee, Forsett is well positioned given the choice matchup and the potential for positive game script to feed him around 15 touches, as they enter Cleveland as sizable favorites.Tevin Coleman, Atlanta Falcons : Offseason talk of a committee backfield emerging in Atlanta proved accurate in Week 1, as Coleman netted a 47 percent snap rate and consumed 13 touches to Devonta Freemans 15, outgaining him in total yardage by 77 yards, thanks to a career day in the receiving department. The Raiders, this weeks opponent, have allowed the sixth-most receptions and a generous 82 percent completion rate to tailbacks since the start of last season. At a position of scarcity, Coleman is the rare widely available back capable of consuming half of the touches and snaps for a fantasy-friendly offense.Wide receiverTyrell Williams, San Diego Chargers: Due to the aforementioned Allen suffering a serious knee injury, its likely we will see Williams earn increased exposure in regard to routes and targets. Williams led the Chargers with 14.6 air yards per target in Week 1 and was targeted by Philip Rivers on an encouraging 20.8 percent of his routes. With shootout ingredients in place against the Jaguars at home this Sunday, Williams is projected for WR3 production and can be found in free agency in a vast majority of ESPN leagues.Mike Wallace, Baltimore Ravens: This downfield threat could feast on the Browns suspect secondary, given a growing rapport with Joe Flacco. Wallaces average target traveled 16 yards in the air this past Sunday in his debut for the Ravens and his 66-yard score marked his 11th catch of at least 50 yards since entering the NFL in 2009, which ties him for the third most since entering the league, per ESPN Stats & Info. On an otherwise murky depth chart at receiver for the Ravens, its becoming clear Wallace has the most projectable value given his rewarding vertical role.Tight endEric Ebron, Detroit Lions: The Titans have surrendered the eighth-highest passer rating to opposing quarterbacks targeting tight ends, and a touchdown on nearly 10 percent of such targets dating back to the start of last season. Ebron made good on all five of his targets in Week 1 and was targeted on a healthy 15 percent of his routes, which is impressive in the context of the Lions volume-driven passing scheme. At a shallow position, Ebron stands out as a legitimate breakout candidate both this week and for the remainder of the season.Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens: Were going deep with this one, as Pitta is available in 99 percent of ESPN leagues as of press time. The selling points are admittedly attractive, as the Browns have ceded the third-highest passer rating to opposing QBs when targeting tight ends, while allowing the second-highest touchdown percentage on such attempts. Pitta dominated snaps and routes among the Ravens tight ends in Week 1 and has a proven chemistry with Flacco, albeit going back several years given the tight ends durability issues. Were clearly targeting the Browns with our recommendations this week, but with so many widely available skill players for the Ravens, its the top inefficiency on the current marketplace we can exploit.Defense/special teamsBaltimore Ravens: The trend continues, as were hammering this favorable fantasy climate for the Ravens trip to Ohio. Baltimores pass rush was deflated by several key injuries last season, but produced the leagues sixth-best pressure percentage in Week 1, creating a sack, hurry or hit on one-third of the Bills dropbacks this past Sunday. With the Browns leaky offensive line outside of left tackle Joe Thomas, the Ravens could thrive in pressuring Josh McCown, which often proves rewarding for fantasy purposes.Individual defensive playersDefensive lineJabaal Sheard, New England Patriots: One of our top breakout candidates among edge rushers this season, Sheard played on 72.1 percent of the Patriots defensive snaps in Week 1, a sizable jump from his 62 percent rate for the team in 2015. More impressively, Sheard produced three quarterback hurries in Week 1, and could deliver in the sack department against a fallible Miami line. If Sheard isnt available, maybe you can find Robert Ayers of the Bucs, who earns steady exposure as a pressure maven.LinebackerBenardrick McKinney, Houston Texans: Maybe we were a year early in declaring McKinney a top breakout candidate as a rookie last fall, but the momentum is building for a strong sophomore season. With a 96 percent snap rate in Week 1 and 16 percent of his snaps spent rushing the passer, we find appealing upside in place for the Mississippi State product for this matchup with the Chiefs. Another under-the-radar pick is Preston Brown of the Bills, who delivers a high tackle floor playing the inside lanes for Buffalos front seven.Defensive backShawn Williams, Cincinnati Bengals: Williams recorded the third-highest run-stop percentage (rate of defensive stops within eight yards of the line of scrimmage) among safeties in Week 1, per Pro Football Focus. With the Steelers high-octane, snap-happy offense up next, we can expect another rewarding day for Williams. Another sound safety option for tackle upside would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Chris Conte, one of just six defensive backs to record double-digit tackles in Week 1.
